I had a great time with bruce today – we caught some good fish in slick calm conditions. It was not nearly as redhot as yesterday but we did well.
After our first drum stop was a bust, we found a good school and managed to catch several on topwater (I even got to catch a couple!). They were, however, not nearly as aggressive as tuesday and were soft on the topwater strikes and not at all responsive to poppin’ corks. We just had to work a hair harder for them.
We spent a while looking for trout, and caught several flounder, before we found a good bite and bruce managed to hook a few – and got his inshore slam!
Great day – sure was slick out there!
