We had a great time during late March and early April targeting Big Trout (2-4lbs on avg.), flounder and reds of all sizes in the backwater creeks. Great, very protected fishing in the early (and typically windy) spring months. Everything was caught on artificials – mirrolures, popping corks rigged with halo shrimp and gulp pogies.
Every day is different, and that’s what makes this type of fishing so much fun – one day you catch all flounder, the next a bunch of reds, the next day you wack the trout…and then one day you catch a little of everything. Great for short morning and evening half-days.
Craig and Reid wacked the drum pretty good – including these two 27′ fish. I think one was over over-slot – i just can’t remember!
Pete and Sally with a couple nice drum – no trout today but they wacked the drum pretty good!
Paul with a typical 3lb spring speck.
Lauren with a nice multi-spot, lower slot fish.
Ric with a decent little red during a day of miserable rain – caught a little bit of everything today and my camera died early on 🙁
Charles with a keeper 16′ Flounder!
