I took a day off in order to get offshore and do something that I typically don’t do with clients. It was also supposed to be slick calm but light and variable became east 15. That made the stream choppy (blowing against the current) and a bit too much running 8 lines out of a 23′ center consol for a tired guide on his day off. Thankfully I had excellent help.

Fishing was good – found a mark of bait and kept getting dumped every time we crossed it. The only problem was fighting the current to get back to it w/o tangling lines. Landed a 15lb gaffer, and 8 wahoo bites and 6 tuna bites – lost a bunch in the confusion but we got our target species! Ended the day bailing triggers.

Victory!
