Been a cloudy week with north winds making it hard to get off the beach. We found a lot of bluefish and gray trout off the beaches, sea mullet in the inlet. We witnessed a very, very large thresher shark chase a bluefish on our line in 8′ of water near the pier. Incredible animal.
Water made a good leap this weekend – while we got in Bonito last week. This jump into the mid-60s should expand their range.
Yesterday was an outstanding day – we went looking for Bonito. We found 68 degree water and…tons of albies on baitballs. Huge Sharks. And some large spanish mackerel. No Bonito. (Though at the end of the day another boat showed up, made one cast, and caught a Bonito – go figure).
Rob is a veteran freshwater guide from Mossy Creek Outfitters in VA – he and his bud Tim made good use of their talents. We caught a lot of albies. And the first spanish of the year. PLEASURE fishing with you guys!
