Big Reds, No albies.

The weather was horrible monday and tuesday - and while it was quite nice wed and today.....the albies have disappeared on us. We've covered a lot of water and seen hardly a fish. I went out with regulars Dave and Sue today in hopes to do a little bit of everything (that's what we love [...]

East wind albies and blues.

It was sporty yesterday - ENE 20+ with a large ground swell. But we were able to find a few albies and landed this really nice fish (for early october). But the fish were really skittish so we went and bailed bluefish in the inlet. Going to be quite nasty the next couple of days [...]

VERY few openings left

GREAT albie fishing the past couple of days - breezy, but the fish were there and chewing along the beach. Some nice spanish were caught closer to the cape. This is a general reminder that i have very few days left available - only 2 during the rest of October - 20th (thurs) and 22nd [...]

Great albie morning.

By |2020-09-22T10:36:28+00:00October 5th, 2011|Uncategorized|

Tiny bait blitz off the beach this morning - big pods of fish were churning small bait. Difficult to fool but great fun. I really want to give my guys credit - ken and ralph stuck with the long rods and really toughed it out. We finished up chasing pods of larger fish running the [...]

Albie and trout update.

By |2020-09-22T10:36:28+00:00October 4th, 2011|Uncategorized|

After a couple days of dirty water in the ocean, the North winds are finally clearing it up. Today we found some decent pods and had fair shots all morning. Yesterday I had a great time with Barry - the gusty west wind kept us from really getting into the reds but we found a [...]

Trouts.

By |2020-09-22T10:36:28+00:00October 1st, 2011|Uncategorized|

Stole another couple hours of click calm conditions friday morning - so much for forcast 10-15SW. We got into a pretty decent trout and Grace did well - beating out her dad on the specks! The wind picked up and reds proved scarce today - but we had a great time anyway!

The Curse

Because it's not bananas and I dont know what else to call it! Last year Paul, his friends and I always did well - actually we did better than well. We killed it. This year? Not so much - usually it's wind and thunderstorms. So remember that great trout and redfish bite from yesterday? Well....... [...]

Reds, More big Specks.

By |2020-09-22T10:36:29+00:00September 28th, 2011|Uncategorized|

Today I had Chris and Nickie onboard for some backwater action - it sure was nice to get out after 4 days of solid rain! Started off catching a few blues in the inlet - saw some spanish jump but they are still a little scarce lately. Reds were a little slower today - we [...]

Excellent Albacore

By |2020-09-22T10:36:29+00:00September 26th, 2011|Uncategorized|

This is a late Friday report - had uploading issues. It rained all weekend, but the albies were still there and bit like crazy. Can't say I was out there all weekend, but it was good!! It's looking like it's going to be an excellent fall! Today we had 80% chance of heavy rain from [...]

Wed trout scouting.

By |2020-09-22T10:36:30+00:00September 21st, 2011|Uncategorized|

So, after a morning of scattered rain I decided to do some trout scouting and hit a bunch of my favorite fall spots. I picked away at specks for 3hrs catching a good number of 12-15" fish and a half-dozen 18-21" approx 2lb fish. Excellent fishing by september standards. I released all fish - will [...]
