By |2019-02-27T06:30:20+00:00August 28th, 2004|Uncategorized|

This lucky angler, 15 year old Alex Horton (along with his dad) caught and released this sailfish at honeymoon rock last weekend. I wasn't involved with the catch, but Alex asked me to post these pictures for him. Doesn't get better than this - father and son and sail!

By |2019-02-27T06:30:20+00:00August 28th, 2004|Uncategorized|

I went out today with some friends to check out a variety of things - among them large weedlines less than 5 miles from the inlet, etc. All of this produced nothing. With no fish in site we decided to check out the reported action on the east side. It was pretty calm so i [...]

8/25 WaterDog – Acres of Blues and Big Flounder

By |2019-02-27T06:30:21+00:00August 25th, 2004|Uncategorized|

Headed out this morning with Derek, Bill and Trevor on one of their many yearly visits with flounder on the mind. Three generations of fishermen on one boat always makes for a good time--nothing like father and son. On the way out of the inlet, we ran into huge clouds of birds and giant baitballs [...]

By |2019-02-27T06:30:21+00:00August 18th, 2004|Uncategorized|

This afternoon, I headed out to a few of the ARs with good buddy Captain Scott Crocker of www.shacklefordcharters.com in search of some clean water and good fishing. Unfortunately, the clean water didn't ever find us or vice versa but the fishing was steady (if not a bit slow). The better water is still east [...]

By |2019-02-27T06:30:22+00:00August 11th, 2004|Uncategorized|

I teamed up with Captain Billy Brewer of the Fisherman's Inn (www.fishermansinn.net) for a two boat trip with a bunch of great guys from the midwest. Flounder was the plan and these boys wanted to get some dinner in the boat. With 100 mullet in the livewell, and with Captain Billy following, i headed out [...]

8/10 – SURPRISE YELLOWFIN TUNA

By |2019-02-27T06:30:22+00:00August 10th, 2004|Uncategorized|

On Wednesday August 10th, I went fishing with my friend Captain Scott Crocker of Shackleford Charters. Barely 8 miles off the beach (in an area I fish my own boat all the time), we found a great weedline and started looking for dolphin. We found an old stump covered in baitfish and started waiting...it wasn't [...]
