Flounder and bonito

By |2019-02-27T06:19:28+00:00May 5th, 2011|Uncategorized|

Blowing 20 first thing it slicked out nice by lunch and Brant and co mopped up the flatties today - putting a bunch of keepers in the box before quiting to look for other stuff. The bonito gave us the slip this morning making us feel quite 'oppressed' by their mysterious behavior as of late. [...]

It's really time to get fishing. The last few days have been DARN GOOD. Bonito fishing has been excellent after a lack-luster weekend. There have also been good reports of cobia starting to wave in. I haven't been after them myself YET - I just need someone who wants to go. I still have open [...]

Easter fishing – no-nito and reds

By |2019-02-27T06:19:29+00:00April 24th, 2011|Uncategorized|

Great morning today - much calmer than forcast. The bonito gave us 2 good shots but we failed - other than that we caught blues and seabass and chased so pinicky albies. The bass? Even caught a keeper on the fly - pic below. Regular Jason, and his dad Russell, fished inside with me in [...]

NOV 07 RECAP – SMOKING SPECS, EPIC ALBACORE!

By |2019-02-27T06:19:30+00:00April 17th, 2011|Uncategorized|

November 2007 was honestly one of the best months of fishing I have ever experienced. The fish, for everything, was consistant and the weather was even better. No matter what we did - we found fish. Particularly Albacore - after a slow '06..07 was a nice relief. I can't remember a single bad day - [...]

GAMEFISH STATUS FOR RED DRUM, SPECKLED TROUT AND STRIPERS

By |2019-02-27T06:19:31+00:00February 21st, 2011|Uncategorized|

Commercial Fishing interests are out of control in North Carolina, and we need to let our state representatives know about it. The Marine Fisheries Commission is currently filled with members who are blatantly bending and breaking state laws in order to swing the pendulum as far to the commercial fishing sector as possible. They not [...]

More Albies in the PM

By |2019-02-27T06:19:32+00:00November 23rd, 2010|Uncategorized|

After the inshore bite died (only lasted 90mins) we headed offshore to the land of the sippers...and since it was cloudy and drizzling...they nailed our topwater plugs. The warm push of water also brought some AJs in and we caught several. Beth with a topwater albie - we slayed 'em!
