We’re getting to Amberjack City time – the water is warming and they are hungry.
Win and I always have a good time together and after a few spanish on the fly (hoping for a late Bonito – no dice), we went and found the Jacks.
They ate very well and broke everything. Several took poppers, one took a whole fly line – you name it, they broke it. They were just way too big today with most in the 40lb+ range. A few 80lb+ fish were around – even hooked on, unfortunately. I think I need to invest in a 14 or 16 weight.
We had somewhere around 10 solid hook-ups on the fly and one tired fly fisherman!
