This past week I went up to NY to fish Montauk, Long Island with my good friend Anthony. It was quite the trip.
The runs to the fish are short but the wind was howling (30+ one day and over 20 another) but the bass were there in incredible numbers. On the 7th we cast to huge schools of bass busting on the surface for hours upon hours until we were utterly exhausted and we just sat there and watched the fish crushing pods of bay anchovies. We caught countless 10-15lb bass on fly and almost as many 5-10lb bluefish. What an awesome fishery.
Good times with an old friend – I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
