This morning was just one of those days – one of those perfect fall days like you wish everyday would be like. Not working today (What’s wrong with you folks – the fish is GREAT), katie and i were supposed to meet up with scott at one of our favorite speckled trout holes. We all showed up over an hour late and we were worried that the day would be a bust.

Were we wrong. All of our first casts produced 2lb speckled trout, after that the action was insane for over an hour. Insane. Between 8 and 9am, we limited out on 2-4lb speckled trout. The best part was that all the action was with artificials – fish after fish came into the boat. At 9am, after having limited out (we also threw back many “small” 1lb fish and some puppy drum) we left the fish biting and headed back home – the dog needed to be fed his breakfast. Normally, I would never keep this many trout (or fish of any other species) but like my buddy scott, i have friends in town and I promised a lot of people some trout fillets..

What an incredible day – i will let the pictures tell the rest of the story…

What a speck season we’re going to have!!!!!
